The Lord of the Rings - John Ronald Reuel Tolkien
hell yes, my favorite books. i figured i had nothing better to do and no excuse not to, so i'd re-read them. this is only the second time i've read them start to finish, although i'm sure i've read certain parts of them over and over several times. just as engaging as the first time, and even more so. when i was younger i was always worried i'd lose track of the story, and often did, but now i can appreciate all the detail even more, and it's only been a richer experience overall. i forgot how moving some of the scenes were, just as i was complaining to myself how the books lacked pathos. the poems and songs (except for the ones in elvish) are still awful, though. god awful.
