Norwegian Wood - Murakami
i'd heard tales of murakami and reccomendations, but never got around to trying him out. a while ago i started the Wind-up Bird Chronicle but got bored and stopped shortly in. i'd heard his style was surreal, but this turned out to be a very down-to-earth story. it was definitely a soap-opera-ish melodrama, but i liked the characters, the flow, and when now i look back on it fondly. nothing too deep here, just enjoyable fresh writing.
